Special Needs, Dementia Program

• Sierra View Homes offers a safe haven for our folks with dementia or other Alzheimer’s related illnesses. This program provides all day programming from breakfast through supper. This very small “taste of home” allows our residents to have a pleasant day, and for families to have peace of mind that their loved ones are safely cared for and can still have dignity and quality of life.

• The environment is friendly, warm and inviting, but most of all in a home-like setting

• The living room, dining room area is conducive to a calm and pleasant place
• 
  
• Life skills stations are set up that are reminiscent of times gone by for the residents to enjoy and participate
• 
  
• Volunteers come and bring reminders of the past such as churning butter, small pets, and baking bread
• 
  
• There is an outside gated enclosure with a bird aviary for the residents to soak up the sun, or plant and water a few vegetables or flowers.
